recently I bought the “Heavy Configuration Retrofit Kit” but I have a strange behavior of the BR2. It seems the fornt/left vertical motor to operate more powerful than the others. The result that I can’t even dive or re-surface. When I use 75% of power percent the BR2 almost flip! Any idea/help? The software is in last version and all the vertical thrusters are new. Is possible to have any problem with the ESC? I can’t think anything else. Is there any kind of test or diagnostic so as to decide what is the problem? Everything else is working fine (lateral thrusters, light, gripper, video, etc).
I solved the problem with dive/resurface ability. I had to change the flow direction of the motors using the ‘Vehicle Setup’ / ‘Motors’. Now, when I want to dive all motors push the water toward the surface and when I want to resurface all motors push the water toward bottom. Unfortunately, I can’t use the ‘Stabilize mode’ and ‘Depth Hold mode’. Either mode I choose the BR2 rolls (choosing ‘Stabilize mode’) or pitchs (choosing ‘Depth Hold mode’) very quickly. Apparently, the flow of motors are mess up. Is there any guide how the flow of motors should be so as to operate all modes, without problems? I am pretty sure I have connect the motors following the assembly instructions. At that moment my options of the ‘Vehicle Setup’ / ‘Motors’ looks like that
Check motors 5 to 8. When you move the slider down, the vertical motors should make the water flow downwards. Test these 4 motors one by one and make sure the numbering in the diagram matches their location in the ROV correctly.
Another factor is the Pixhawk and frame orientation. Check if your virtual horizon have the top half blue(sky) and the bottom half green (land) when leveled.
you are the best. I checked the motors 5-8: a) the number and the position of each motor was alright, b) all motors were pushing the water flow upwards, when I checked them with the slider down. I reversed the direction of water flow to all motors and now I have a great stabilize and depth hold mode!!!
