T-100 lubrication for bench test

I think I understand the t-100 uses plastic bushings and water (instead of oil) during normal use. Would it be wise to put a little oil or grease in there for bench testing controls as low RPM as possible? Does the motor force water into the bushings during operation or does water makes it way there on its own?
Maybe someone has already answered this and sorry if they have. Very curious about these awesome thrusters.

Hi Daniel,

If we’re running thrusters on the bench we usually dunk them in water first to get the bearings wet. That helps quite a bit and extends the time you can run them above water.

We haven’t tested running them with any other lubricants so I can’t say much about that! I’d be very cautious about anything that could degrade the plastic parts.
