ROV 2 Vehicle Disconnected Message

Getting a persistent vehicle disconnected/ connected message that starts after approx 20 mins of use. Continues on and off rendering control hopeless.
Thinking it could be voltage related but not sure.
Any ides what I should be checking please?

Thanks

Hi @Stanna -
Sorry for the issue, but it’s tough to provide advice without more information.

What type of vehicle is it?

What version of BluoeOS are you using?

How are you connected to the vehicle?

Have you run a network speed test? Have you tested the tether connection (If an ROV) with the tether diagnostic BlueOS extension?

Is the link light on your FXTI (blue box) (assuming ROV) staying illuminated and never turning off?

What is your battery voltage?

Have you setup any different Mavlink Endpoints?

Sorry not had chance to reply.

Its ROV2 Heavy with Qground control 4.2.8.
The fault has now become a lost manual control permanent fault when starting up. I have video but the joy pad is red and status says no for both options. However the screen says ready to fly. Nothing from the joy pad controls when moving them.
I’m thinking this is a hardware issue?
As you can probably tell i have not built this myself so an idiots check list would be a useful start when checking cabling, or what lights are illuminated.

When diagnostic is complete i have a blue flashing LED and a smaller solid blue and green on the same board. On the adjoining board is a small solid red LED.

I’m sure its a simple fault for those in the know if you can help.

Thanks

Hi @Stanna -
Have you enabled and calibrated your joystick in QGround Control?
Click the Q in the upper left, select vehicle setup, and joystick. Make sure enable joystick input is selected, you may need to perform a calibration, and checking your button assignments is always good. You should see your controller listed as the active joystick if it is connected to the computer properly.

The flashing blue light indicates the autopilot is running OK, and the red LED is the Pi power indicator - it has a green light next to it that will flash during disk activity.

Thanks tony.

Turns out it was the USB port on the laptop its connected to. I swapped it with the keyboard port and it was back up and running ok. Strangely the keyboard works ok in the suspect port??? Computers are a pain.

Thanks for the help and I will make a note of the lights for future reference.
