My companion computer died last weekend. It is a Raspberry Pi 3B ver. 2
Due to coronavirus, it will take a week to get a replacement from Amazon. I have several Raspberry Pi 3B**+** computers laying around, so I swapped the MicroSD card into a 3B+, but I couldn’t boot past the splash screen.
So I downloaded the latest raspbian image from here, and it also won’t boot past the splash screen.
Is the Raspberry Pi 3B+ supported by the companion computer OS?
Hi Travis,
Well, if you want to give a shot, you can try to use our work in progress installation script, it may work for you if you are really willing to try.
Be aware, this is WIP, it may not work and we do not recommend the use of this script.
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jaxxzer/companion/setup-clean/scripts/install.sh
chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh
We highly recommend to not use this as a normal installation, buy a normal Raspberry Pi 3B after the quarantine is over and replace the 3B+.
If you don’t want to damage your system, or have unexpected results, please wait for it to be over and buy a new raspberry when possible.
Thanks for the link! I’ll give it a shot. I understand the risks.
