Hi, i am setting up my costum ROV with Blue Os and the Navigator. When i connect the camera servo, the servo gets hot and makes weird noises. It seems like it wants to move in both directions at the same time. I can move the servo via cockpit but it´s not smooth.
Thanks for the help
Hi @michaelsloschek -
Are you using the standard (digital) servo from Blue Robotics? It sounds like you may be using a different, analog one?
How long is the servo cable from the Navigator to the servo - longer than the standard BlueROV2 length?
Hey,
yea i am using my own digital servo, but the servo cable is way longer than the original. Probably about 1ft. If i test it with a servo tester it works fine, but with blue os/cockpit i have that issue.
Thanks for helping
Hi @michaelsloschek -
I would guess something about the signal is getting noise that shouldn’t be there. are you running it next to any power supplies? Is it possible to shorten or re-route the cable?
Is the servo rated for 5V? Can you share what model you’re using?
Are you using the default channel 16 on the Navigator?
Hey,
Yes i was using channel 16 on the navigator. Even if I use a different digital servo directly plugged into the Navigator i have the same issue. So the problem seemes to come from there. Could it be a problem of the powersupply? I am running the standard 5v 6 amp power supply to power the Navigator aswell as the 16 navigator output rail
Good News, I managed to get a different servo working. I used an other Digital servo in combination with a ferrite core. that seemed to do it.
Thanks for the help
