How to remove small map window from QGC display?

My BlueROV (v1) system is now sending video to QGC’s in-flight display window on Windows 10. I would like to use screen capture software to record the video from our dives. Does anyone know how to hide the small satellite map window in the lower-left corner of the QGC display?

Click on the “double box” icon in the small satellite map window, that will toggle turning the map display on/off. If you click in the map instead, it will become full size and the video will be displayed in the window.

As of yesterday, the daily build of QGC includes support for recording the raw video stream (no overlay). If you want a video with the QGC instrument panel, a screen recorder is still the way to go.

Thanks! That works well.

Thanks Jacob. Looks like a great feature. Unfortunately it looks like the Windows version of the QGC daily does not include this feature yet.

The current daily build for Windows is v3.1.2.

I’ve just checked that the daily windows build (from the link I provided) does include video recording. The version at the top of the window should say “HEAD” instead of a version number. I think you might have installed the latest stable build, if not try uninstalling first.

Yeah it doesn’t look like it has made it over to the Windows daily yet. I just installed the Daily Windows 2017-01-31 this morning. Very useful feature though! Any idea how much it slows down the system/framerate when recording is active?

The recording icon will only show up if there is video connected. There will also be a video save directory option in General Settings regardless of whether video is connected. If the commit hash in the title bar matches the one in the picture I posted, it should be available.

I haven’t noticed any ill effects on system or framerate while recording.

There is no video save directory option in the version I installed today.
