GPS issues with BlueBoat?

Well, I’m out of ideas. I simply cannot get the stock GPS on my shiny new BlueBoat to behave. It WILL NOT achieve a GPS fix, despite being out in my back yard with clear sky view, for hours at a time. The only time it got a fix was last night for about 15 seconds, down in my basement, with the starboard module sitting almost upside down on the ottoman in front of my couch. Its position showed it a couple blocks down the street, but at least it was close. Before then, and since then, nothing…

Long story short: it’s my belief that ArduRover’s gps_autoconfig function is trying to set a particular u-blox protocol parameter that the Gen 9 u-blox chips no longer support. I disabled autoconfig and manually set up my GPS using u-center, and it’s been working great ever since.
