I’m facing issues during the calibration of the compass on the fligth controller. I use a Pixhawk 2.4.8.
The pixhawk stay at horizontal position and arrowing forward on the vehicle, so I setted the “autopilot rotation” to “none”.
I’m able to calibrate Gyro, level horizont and acelerometer, but when I try to calibrate the compass, the QGC always shows the “compass calibration fail” menssage in the end of the proccess. I tested it on 2 pixhawks, both with latest firmware (picture attached) and got the same results.
Hi @rold
Are you moving the vehicle around with Pixhawk mounted in position to calibrate the compass? If you think of a laser beam coming out of the front of the pixhawk, you are trying to hit every point of a sphere surrounding it, by rotating and rolling it around for a considerable time. You will see the progress bar increase as this happens. You also want to perform this far away from any large ferrous metal objects. It can sometimes take a few attempts! Best of luck
