Base station not turning on

Hi all,

Hoping someone can offer some insight here. Have just gone to turn on my base station and nothing happens. I can press the battery monitor light and it illuminates with 3 bars, however if trying to charge, or trying to turn on the base station, I get no response at all.

Have taken the cover off the station and nothing looks disconnected or out of place. The switch is set to 12v. When connecting the base station via cable to my PC it still does not turn on but it does register that a device has been connected

EDIT: PROBLEM FOUND

Just an update here guys, the buttons on the top panel (except for the battery monitor..?) are broken. I managed to turn on the base station/charge it using the buttons I found on the PCB.

When I get home from the field I will take it apart and figure out what’s wrong with the buttons, but I suspect the vibrations of travel have rattled off the solders

Cheers

Hi @Blueb -

Sorry for the issue! Rather than bad solder joints, I woudl suspect the ribbon cable that connects the buttons to the PCB has come loose. Lifting the little black lever inserting it, and pushing it back down should resolve the issue!

Thanks Tony, the ribbon isn’t an issue on the board side, but maybe on the button side it is. I can’t see a way to easily access that right now but will check it out once I am back in the lab.
