Water Linked DVL A50 losing connection randomly, solid LED indicator, and won't reconnect without long cooldown

Hi,

We are experiencing an intermittent connection and power cycle issue with our Water Linked DVL A50 and would appreciate some advice. After powering up the unit and reading data normally, the DVL randomly loses bottom lock after some runtime. When this happens, the LED indicator stays solid, the connection drops completely, and we stop receiving any data.

If we immediately power-cycle the unit, the LED stays dimly lit and solid, and it fails to establish a connection. However, if we cut the power and let the unit sit disconnected for an extended period, it boots up normally and we can stream data again, though the exact same failure eventually repeats at a random moment.

To troubleshoot, we tested powering the unit with both 12V and 24V regulated DC supplies, but the issue persists on both voltages. We also monitored the internal temperature via the web GUI, and it never exceeds 30°C, so overheating does not seem to be the cause. Has anyone encountered a similar behavior, or does anyone have suggestions on what might be causing this lockup?

If the LED is not flashing at all (for longer than ~60 seconds) then there’s likely some issue with the device itself - perhaps the firmware is crashing somehow during startup? I’d suggest going through Water Linked’s troubleshooting steps, and contacting them for support if necessary.
