So we recently received the Newton Gripper to attach to our second BlueRov. One question I do have is whether it’d be possible to get a different end attachment for the gripper to get sediment rather than just grab things? This would open up a lot of research opportunities! What I’m thinking of wouldn’t be too difficult to develop, something like this:
Unfortunately I’m not familiar with CAD and we don’t have access to a 3D printer, but I feel adapting a new set of grippers that just fit in place of the current grab wouldn’t be too complicated.
