On my Windows 11 laptop I downloaded Qgroundcontrol. What should I select here for the BlueBoat with Xbox controller to work?
Hi @OttoGeometius -
It shouldn’t matter what you select there - I believe those parameters are automatically set when a connection to a vehicle occurs. Generally, the Firmware is ArduPilot, and a BlueBoat is ArduRover.
What version of QGC are you using? Blue Robotics hasn’t tested beyond 4.2.8 - we developed Cockpit instead, and while we’re still “dialing in” the BlueBoat experience with it, it is much better on the latest beta version!t
Hi Tony,
Thanks for the reply! We’re using version 4.2.8. When setting firmware to ArduPilot the manual control with the Xbox controller didn’t work. When leaving it on the default setting (PX4 Pro) it all worked fine again.
Would you recommend using Cockpit instead of QGroundcontrol?
Hi @OttoGeometius -
That’s very strange! I honestly didn’t think those settings affected anything, especially the controller. Could it be that the controller just needed to be calibrated and enabled under joystick settings?
You’re welcome to try Cockpit - it isn’t fully equivalent to QGC when it comes to ArduRover and the BlueBoat yet, but I’ve had good success with it, and we’re all ears for any shortcomings you may find!
We followed these steps: BlueBoat Software Setup
Okay thanks!
