can anyone please explain why using the pix hawk and rasberry pi both in the rov.
As i know the rasberry pi enssure the communication between the tether boards and the pix hawk is connected to the rasberry. Thanks in advance

Take a look in our ardusub documentation here, that will describe and explain each component.
I think its logical to keep the costs down. Otherwise you would need another way to get your serial data and video feed to the top side. Ethernet is a good and cheap way and I haven’t found a device that can do this for less money than a raspberry pi paired with a phantom X.
