Ping360 scanning sonar integration with QGC

Hi,
Currently I am using ping360 scanning sonar its working fine in Blueos and showing data in ping viewer. Now I am trying to take the data of ping360 sonar in QGC but i am unable to get the data.Is there any method to get the data in QGC?

Hi @Empire10 -
QGround Control does not support external sonar data of any type…
Besides using PingViewer in another window, you could also see the data via SonarView, standalone or BlueOS extension.
The extension version of SonarView can be embedded alongside the video stream with an iFrame widget in Cockpit, the ground control station solution Blue Robotics is moving towards - as QGC is very hard to modify or work with for custom applications!

Hi @tony-white
Thanks for replying, As much I know cockpit is an extension of the BlueOS.
Is it available as external software?

Hi @Empire10 -
A standalone version of Cockpit, based on Electron, is available and mentioned in the post I linked! You can download and run it on mac, windows, or linux just like QGC. There are some advantages vs. using the extension - videos can be downloaded without the BlueOS instance being connected to your computer, and it’s possible to keep driving the vehicle with your gamepad even if you alt-tab to display another window…

Hi @tony-white
Thanks for providing the links.I installed Cockpit and also embedded sonarview extension of BlueOs into it and getting ping360 sonar data. Can i use this sonar data for collision avoidance? Is it anything related to collision avoidance available in Cockpit?

Hi @Empire10 -
Cockpit wouldn’t be the right place to do things like obstacle avoidance…
Ardusub does not have anything baked in for automatic collision avoidance , as discussed on the forum before. That doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be possible to develop!

Hi @tony-white
Thanks for clearing this. Now I am working on obstacle avoidance…If i encounter any issue related to cockpit i will post here.
Thanks
