Ping 1D UART connection

Hi
can i connect Ping Altimeter directly to telemetry 1 or 2 ports of pixhawk since its communication protocol is UART and also i can see range finder option in SERIAL1 /2 parameter ?

It should work fine. You won’t be able to connect to it via PingViewer, though.

Thanks for your reply willian. is This working for me.
But my question is , there was an option for Gain adjustment in ping viewer .in case of UART connection, will it be the gain in Auto mode ?
Also need to know about the rangefinder orientation if i am using to get the distance from a wall in front of ROV?
