Modifying Frame Configuration

I am building a custom ROV, and have found that it yaws too quickly. I was thinking about altering the motor configuration and changing the yaw factor. Would I need to increase or decrease the value to decrease the speed at which it yaws? Is this the best way to do that?

There is no need to compile a new firmware. You can adjust the parameter ACRO_YAW_P to achieve the same effect.
