None of the two cameras show up in the video streams page nor the DWE extention. Can you help us with what we should try to define the problem, and do you have any guess-timates? Can it be the RPi? We tried swapping ports without success. I don’t suspect the problem lies within the cameras nor cables, these are always handled with care.
We are on the last stable version of BlusOS, 4.5.7
Do the cameras work when connected to a normal computer instead of the RPi?
Do things work as expected when only one camera is connected?
Is BlueOS providing any issue notifications or problem status indicators in the header bar?
If the cameras are ok by themselves then I’d suspect either a powering or communication bandwidth issue, but given you said they’re not even registering as connected a power issue seems more likely. It may be worth trying to connect them via an externally powered USB hub to see whether that helps, but make sure the cameras are working first.
What wires were incorrect on the camera plug, and did you re-wire this or did it come out of the box like this!?
If power is reversed, it would prevent any USB device from functioning potentially…
The DWE discovery application is unecessary - these cameras show up as USB devices! You can use your OS camera app (photobooth on Mac, “Camera” on Windows, “Cheese” on ubuntu) and select that camera instead of your computers default to verify connection.
Beyond 2 cameras connected, a third would require connecting the 5V red wire to another power source, as the Pi USB bus can’t source more power than 2 require!
Power was reversed. I had to redo the white JST plug (?) because I pulled some shield and a heat-shrink over the wires. Absolute tragedy and the most notorious rookie mistake. Not proud of it, man enough to say it.

We currently only use two cameras, but adding a third would also include a multiplexer, I think.
We are still experiencing some issues with these cameras.
During a dive yesterday one of our video feeds turned black. Stream 1 stopped working, but Stream 2 continued to work for a bit before also blacking out.
Today, none of the cameras work (in BlueOS / Cockpit). We connected them to our Mac and they both work in Photo Booth, so we are suspecting a problem with the software or the USB-ports on our Rpi. Do you have any tips on how to move forward?
They are now wired correctly.

To get the best results from those cameras, you’re going to want to be on the next version of BlueOS - the latest 1.4.4 beta 11 is nearly ready for release, but should greatly improve camera performance in your application. Update, restart the vehicle, and if no streams are present you may need to add them on the video streams page again.
