I have a Cerulean ROV Locator MkII on my Blue ROV2 and a gps puck topside. I use sonarview to see my topside location and the location of the ROV below but I usually work in open water where the default tiles tell me nothing. I work for a marine habitat mapping group and we have many rasters (bathymetry, backscatter, substrate models, etc.) that would make a great base map to use in SonarView so I can see my position relative to the features I am targeting for video transect surveys. Is there any way to load my own geotiffs into wither SonarView or Cockpit?

GeoTIFF support for Cockpit is under active review - you’re welcome to help test if you’d like to (either directly, or by providing some example files for us to confirm load properly+smoothly)!
I’m not particularly experienced with SonarView, but from searching the docs there seems to be support for exporting GeoTIFF files, but not for importing them as part of the base map.

Thanks for your quick response! Since your reply I saw that this functionality was merged to the latest main branch of Cockpit so I downloaded it and the Geotiff import and display worked perfectly. This will be a huge help to us as we attempt to survey a variety of seafloor features. I’ll post again once I have my layers loaded into Cockpit with nicer symbology to deomnstrate this new utility.
