Cracked BlueROV frame

Hello all,
I’m wondering if anyone else has found that part of the BlueROV is susceptible to cracking at locations where the M5x20’s connect the centre panels to the side panels.

We had noticed the frame became a bit loose and this may be why. The slots are a little close to this edge which may be why they’ve all cracked. We have a spare one which we’ll swap out for but I suspect it may fail again.

Hi @GavXYZ -
That may be an older frame, newer revisions move that slot closer to the vehicle centerline to eliminate that problem… Do you know when the unit was purchased, or have an order number? You can order replacement components, please report a problem with a product.

April '22 I believe Tony. We have a spare so we’ll check it’s the newest version before fitting it.

Mine is broken in the exact same place.

I found it was pretty easily repaired with some adhesive and stainless screws. I ran a thin bead of adhesive on the edge of the panel and carefully added some screws. I used stainless pocket screws 1.25" long (kreg brand, highlighted in yellow below). Stiffened up the frame nicely. We’ll see how long it holds up…

Nice solution. I hope it can be an option for others affected. We fit the revision of the plate.
