Connecting Impact Subsea ISA500

Hello everyone. I was able to download the ‘‘sonarview’’ from blueOS, but it doesn’t detect my device as shown on the picture. Let me say here that i use the BlueBoat with the IMPACT SUBSEA ISA500 SONAR, with hydromagic survey software for bathymetric survey. How can i proceed to have my device detected ?

Yeah, SonarView supports Cerulean sonars plus the BR Ping1&2 and Ping 360, so it won’t find your IMPACT SUBSEA device. Neither will the other mentioned BlueOS extensions.

So any solution for me ?

Hi @Rommel, welcome to the Blue Robotics forum

To integrate a custom device to a vehicle you’ll need to have some kind of device driver for it.

I’m not aware of any BlueOS Extensions that work with the device you’ve mentioned, but you may be able to make one if you have information about the protocol it uses (or request for the manufacturer to do so). That could take the form of a dedicated integration software with a relevant interface and configuration options, or it could be a translation layer to the open source ping protocol that would enable it to be used with existing visualisers like the Blue Robotics Ping Viewer, or Cerulean’s SonarView software.

Alternatively, if you already have software on your control station that can configure and control it, you may be able to use a bridging functionality like the Serial Bridges functionality built into BlueOS, or the VirtualHere or USBIP BlueOS Extensions.
