Condensation and Leak sensor

Hi all,

We just did a dive to 40 meters. Our ROV was fine until we pulled it out of the water, at which point we tilted it on its side. At that point the leak sensors went off for a small amount of water on the bottom of the battery enclosure. Our prediction is that condensation built up on the metal bulk head on the back of the enclosure because of the cold water temperature; when we tilted the ROV this water dripped down and flowed along the bottom of the enclosure. Our enclosure passed the vacuum test before launch. Has anyone else experienced something similar or does anyone have any thoughts on our prediction?

Thanks,
Mike

We have encountered this before, and yes it is possible for enough condensation to collect to form droplets.

We recommend that you use desiccant in the enclosure to remove the water vapor from the air and prevent condensation.
