Cannot log into BlueOS

Greetings All,

I have a strange problem. I have a navigator installed in a USV as the autopilot and were using the default IP address. We got most everything working correctly, but I wanted to check the OS version installed and I cannot connect to the Navigator and BlueOS using a direct connection to my computer. I set my computer IP to the recomended 192.168.2.1 but the page times out when I enter 192.168.2.2 in a browser. I have tried different browsers on the computer, the secondary LAN port (Field Laptop was configured with 2 LAN ports), a different computer, various ethernet cables. I even monitored the network connection in WireShark and the only address it gave back for the remote port is 0.0.0.0. There are communication lights on my computer LAN ports. Any ideas? Is there a way to check the Static IP by removing the SD card? I really don’t want to nuke it and start over, although I do have a backup after we tuned the boat. What else is strange is the USV is connected using a HereLink for command and control and I am getting all my telemetry and the controls work…I just cannot access or find the IP of the Navigator.
Cheers,

Ian

Hi @FairweatherIT -

That’s a weird one. Can you ping 192.168.2.2? What OS are you using to try and reach BlueOS? Trying a different browser may help - there is a weird thing on MacOS where if you miss a permissions request, chrome won’t load BlueOS (until you change the name of the chrome app, re-triggering the security prompt when launched / reaching the BlueOS IP.)

If you’re receiving data from the vehicle, wireshark should tell you what IP that is coming from - maybe it got changed from the default IP? Have you tried reaching blueos.local?

Double check your subnet mask is correctly set as well (255.255.255.0)

Removing the SD card won’t let you check the IP configuration.

If you’ve connected the Pi to a local WiFi network in the past, you could find the IP address it has on that network and reach BlueOS by putting that IP in your browser?

Greetings Tony! I have tried everything. I have tried Chrome, FF, and Edge Browsers on 2 different computers. All are windows 11 pro computers. I have tried to ping the IP and used Angry IP scanner and no return replies. I have tried different ethernet cables. In WireShark the connection is active, but the connected IP address if 0.0.0.0. Its very strange that the herelink connects and I can get telemetry and control the lights, sirens, thrusters, and actuators on the USV, but no connection to BlueOS. I think I am going to have to reformat the SD card and try and restore from a backup unless you can think of anything else?

We decided to backup the parameters through Mission Planner (via Herelink tethering), flashed a new SD card with latest BlueOS, and loaded all parameters and now we can connect to Blue OS. We are going out this afternoon to test the boat on the water to make sure everything is working accordingly. No idea what went wrong, but I’ll chalk it up to a bad SD card….
