I’m currently reviewing options to upgrade the capacity and change the chemistry of the battery system on the blue boat. While examining the cable diagram, I noticed that each battery pack is protected by a 60A MIDI fuse, yet the associated harness is wired with 12AWG cable.
By my estimation, the continuous current capacity of 12AWG is approximately 30A, which raises concerns about the suitability of the 60A fuse in this configuration. Could you please advise on the rationale behind this implementation, and whether any changes are recommended to ensure safe and reliable operation with the upgraded system?
I’d appreciate your guidance on this.
