BlueBoat issues PreArm: Check mag field (xy diff:176-100)

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a recurring pre-arm issue on my BlueBoat. It seems to have no problems until I move it unarmed into the water. As soon as it is moved slightly while unarmed, the error “PreArm: Check mag field (xy diff: 176 > 100)” appears and I have to reboot everything.

If I arm the vehicle before moving it, the error does not occur, but the boat loses positioning, which is not acceptable during bathymetric surveys. The problem seams to uccore even in areas with no metal around it.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
And has anyone noticed increased problems in areas with a lot of metal, such as near sheet pile walls, steel structures, or ships?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Dave-B -
Welcome to the forums!
See this recent thread that may be relevant for your situation - disabling the pre-arm checks should be an acceptable workaround. The root cause may be a poor compass calibration (complete this in an outdoor area, far from anything), interference at the place you’re operating, or the batteries and connected cables shifting inside the hull vs. their position during calibration.
Ships and areas with lots of steel or electrical power transmission can definitely cause issues!
