the screws that come with the kit for attaching the ballast weights tend to pull though the lead, the kit should include some #8 stainless steel washers. they fit perfect in the recess and will prevent weight damage.

That’s a good idea. We’re actually going to have an updated ballast weight available in a few days that is made from stainless steel instead of lead and is much stronger at that point. It has similar dimensions but is slightly larger.
