Automate bot using Ardusub

Currently i am working on a project and trying to automate the ROV using Ardusub and i am a bit lost with pymavlink and dronekit. I am confused about what to use and will dronekit even support ArduSub as the autopilot firmware.

Dronekit runs over pymavlink, so you should have the same possibilities/limitations.

Also is it possible to use AUTO/LOITER mode without Underwater GPS? or is it possible to give a command to move the ROV forward for a particular distance for eg. move forward for 2 meters, using the onboard IMU to estimate the distance travelled by the ROV.

Hi! Is there a way to use only the on-board IMUs for (rough) positioning in the xy-plane? So far I’ve tried a few approaches with no luck. AP_InertialNav::get_position() returns (0,0,z). I’ve come to the conclusion that this is because NavEKF2_core::getPosNED(…) detects no GPS or optical flow sensor, and “NavEKF2_core::validOrigin” is false. Guided Mode not supported by Vehicle!

Hello, Whenever I changed the flight mode to guided and set a point on the QGround Control’s map so the ROV must start moving, unfortunately it gives me the message “Guided mode not supported by Vehicle”!!?
