Video recording storage to SD memory card vs external hard drive vs USB

My computer hard drive is relatively full. Will need to record to external drive or SD Memory card or USB. In particular, if an SD card is used does it need to be of certain speed / quality like “Extreme Pro”?

Any feedback on any options would be great. Also, which format will be most efficient for storage / performance? MKV, MOV, or MP4

I will be recording hours of video and need to deliver to a client.

Also, would a seperate video recorder with the duplicate view have advantages?

Hi Doug,

If you want to use a external device, aim to use a class 10 SD card or a external driver with USB 3.0.

Thanks Patrick. Looks like the SanDisk Ultra Plus cards I bought are class 10.
