Vacuum Test Issue during the preliminary vacuum test

Hey Guys,

We are currently assembling the BlueROV2; however, we have encountered an issue during the vacuum testing process. The vacuum pressure drops significantly in less than 10 minutes, indicating a potential leak. We have carefully followed all troubleshooting procedures recommended on the official documentation, but the issue persists. Could you kindly advise on the next steps we should take to resolve this problem?

appriciate your advice

Hi @Kilatbesihitam666 -

Sorry for the issue!

Have you tested the vacuum pump on its own to verify it isn’t leaking?

I assume you’re testing both enclosures at the same time as the instructions detail. Does your ROV use potted penetrators or is it newer, with WetLink penetrators?

The positive pressure test is often a great way to find leaks - your dome could be cracked!

If your tether is connected to the vehicle via WetLink Penetrator, air will leak along the tether itself into the housing - so some pressure getting in is expected. If you want to be extra sure, you could temporarily replace the tether with a blanking bolt, and test again…

hello tony,

Thank you for your answer. We have already tried the positive pressure test and removed the tether with the blanking bolt. But unfortunately, the electronic enclosure is still leaking (the documentation attached). Please give us another option to solve this problem, thank you

Hi @Kilatbesihitam666 -

If there is no leak from the side with penetrators, try the dome! Sometimes those can have hard to see cracks that cause a leak.
