Tampa Deep Sea Xplorers, Heavy ROV

This is our modification of the Blue ROV basic design. The frame is our own construction from 1" thick HDPE. The batteries are our own design, 3D printed housings with 42 18650 LiPOs. The battery housings are 4" PVC with end caps, and the end caps are laser engraved with “TDSX” and our website on the other end. It weighs about 10 pounds more than the basic Blue ROV Heavy but is a little more than 1 pound buoyant.

What’s the depth rating?

Nice design!

I was a bit confused by the ROV ‘floating’ so high in the first image, before I realised it’s just a table with glass that looks kind of like water :stuck_out_tongue:

I imagine that timestamp overlay on the youtube video is incorrect, given most of those components didn’t exist in 2013?

Yeah, I hadn’t used the camera in a couple of years and the time and date stamp reset to the default.
I have since set it to the correct date.

We don’t know yet. The PVC has a pressure rating of 250psi and so over 500fsw, but have
not tested it to that depth yet.
