Support for PC system timestamps in Cockpit video file names

Hi,

We are recording video files in Cockpit Desktop version 1.17.0. All seems to be working, but had two questions that I couldn’t find an answer to in the documentation, so thought I would ask them here:

  1. Have the ability to put the Mission Identifier as the prefix for the .mp4 video recordings is super helpful, and perhaps one of the main reasons that had us move from QGC to Cockpit. I was wondering if it is possible somehow to get the video recordings named using the following scheme ‘MissionName_DDMMYY_HHMMSS.mp4’, or some variation close to that. To be explicit, the DDMMYY and HHMMSS would be the system date and time taken from the PC running the cockpit instance.

  2. It is possible to have Cockpit split recordings into multiple files automatically, via either a file size rule or recording duration rule?

Thanks very much!

Ben

Hi @bsnow -

Those are great ideas! Cockpit 1.18 is about to stable, which has many fixes. If you’d please create an issue for #2, and comment (with any additional details) to add your support to this issue - I think it covers your #1.

Hey @tony-white actually if the user set the mission name, it is going to be used as the filename. We just don’t use the auto-generated names (but we can put an option somewhere to enable using?).
