I would like to buy a power switch similar to the one on the blueboat. The technical documentation indicates that it is a PowerSwitch (120A, 4S/6S Battery, Current/Voltage Sense, 5V/8A Out) but I can’t find it on the internet. Would you have a link or a more specific reference to give me please?
In the meantime. Is there any place where I can look at the datasheet or the powerswitch specifications? We are considering this PowerSwitch as an option for a project but I would like to know more about it.
I’ve just asked internally and there’s still some product development work underway, but there are some technical specifications we can share in the meantime:
Any update on the release date? Very excited for it! I have at least 4 vehicles which could use one and I’ve been holding off finding an alternative solution.
The R&D team found some things that could have caused undesirable behavior in some circumstances, and so unfortunately we still don’t have a launch date! Stay tuned, we’ll be sure to update when we have a target.
Can it be bought now? I actually am having some issues with the power switch of our blueboat Surface Vessel and am looking for a replacement. Is there any alternative switch which we can buy off the shelf since it seems that the blue boat powerswitch is still not available on the market.
Hi @Rahul
Welcome to the forums!
While the switch isn’t available as a standalone product, if you report a problem with a product from our help center you should be able to special order a replacement, or even receive one free if warranted.
Can you share what issues you’re having with your switch?
I already have put up a report. It seems I might have burnt the switch. I measured the voltage difference between the In+ and In- and see a proper 15V difference when the battery is connected but when I measure the voltage at Out+ and Out-, I see no power coming out of it and the boat/electronics are not powering up.
Since, there is 15V coming in. I believe the fuse is still intact.
Hi @Rahul -
The switch typically would fail in a closed condition- could the external switch that turns the power switch on and off be disconnected or damaged? The power switch needs the input signal to actuate…
I measured through multimeter continuity test if that is the case but it seems when I push the power switch in, I am able to see that the signal is coming
I verified this using continuity test using a multimeter between the two probes. The multimeter beeped when the switch was ON (indicating zero/no resistance) and did not beep when the switch was OFF (indicating an open circuit).
Hi @Rahul -
So the external on/off switch is fine - if the internal power switch it is connected to isn’t actuating, the Blue Robotics support team will follow up with you further once you file a support form ticket - please include your order #!
