I really like how Blue OS and the extensions are coming along; it’s turning into a very powerful system. I recently started using the Ping Viewer next extension, but it is missing a few key features that are in the OG Ping Viewer see listed below:
mirror button or “Head Down” Function, so when placed in the vertical orientation or upside down, your left and right are correct
Heading integration (very useful for navigation)
a few extra features that would be nice:
the ability to manually scale the text
the ability to correct the Orientation do the Sonar
I have noticed that my ping 360 is a few degrees off from having the center straight ahead or directly up when in the vertical position. (see the image below showing the sonar not being aligned in the vertical direction)

I have created some issues to help you track the development if you wish, but your suggestion will probably be done before the stable release, that we are planning to do this quarter.
We did some heavy update on the interface during the last weeks, can you try the 1.0.0-beta.18 ? It’ll probably help with the text size, there is also an option in the Ping360 control panel to configure the angle orientation of the sonar, but sadly that will show only if sector view is less than 360.
I’ll let you know once we fix all the issues and create a new release.

Whenever you exit the ping viewer and open it up again, your speed of sound and other settings reset to default. Could you add a feature that automatically saves the last settings, and maybe even have different profiles saved with a reset to default option?
background colour options, when recording the sonar, thought he gradiant colour looks really pleasing to the eye, an option for solid colour backgrounds would make it easier to key out the background in video and paint software.
Ping viewer next is not able to automatically find ping devices connected to the Ethernet network. Even though it shows up in the Ping Sonar Devices, you need to manually type in the IP address.
Could you have an option to customize the Sonar view with the following options?
Number of decimal places shown on numbers
font size
custom colours for the font
angle of the text
angle of display (ie. displayed vertically or horizontally)
major and minor range rings and spacing options on how many major and minor rings are shown. Minor range rings would be thinner lines, major ones would be thicker lines, and an option to label or not label each one.
An option to turn on or off the angle lines.
be able to label the angles on the lines and turn the labels on or off
I believe that the first 3 should be done soon, a more generic configuration of the visual elements will be discussed, but I believe that mostly of the points should be covered.
