Ping360 shows no readings

Hi everyone. I recently got the Ping360 and have connected it using the USB configuration. I have installed the latest version of Ping Viewer and the ArduSub Companion is up to date. The device has been detected by the device manager successfully. Then I headed to the device to view the readings but I found no readings. The stepper motor was spinning as it should. Take a look at what I saw in the Ping Viewer.

Air vs Water

The Ping360 transducer is in an oil-filled section that helps to minimise sound loss while in the water. Pressure waves (e.g. sound) have some component that gets reflected when they hit something with a different density to the material they’re in (which is how sonar distance detection works), and at the oil-air boundary that density change is very significant, so very little sound comes out from (or in to) the sonar in air. That’s why the Ping360 doesn’t work in air, …

I thought that was also stated on the product page, but I couldn’t find it there, so I’ll see if I can add it to make it easier for others to find

Hi, I’m in the same situation. This is what my ping 360 shows when it is in air, theres no readings at all. I’m using the latest version of ping viewer. Any help would be appreciated. I can hear the motor spinning as it should
