Hi,
Are there any plans to add a can bus port (or two
) on the navigator?
How about DroneCAN (UAVCAN v0) support in BlueOS?
Hi @carl,
Given the board has only recently been put into mass production, I don’t expect there will be major design changes in the near future. If it’s possible to accomplish via a software or firmware change in ArduSub or BlueOS to change / switch the function of an existing port then it may be an option ![]()
I don’t believe it’s something we’re working on internally, but BlueOS is designed to be extensible so that may come about via an external / community effort, particularly once we’ve stabilised the BlueOS API and released the extension system in an accessible form ![]()
Hi All,
I am having issues getting reliable communication with a smart BMS system and the Navigator via i2c. The primary issue I believe is long runs (45cm wires in a fairly noisy environment and a switch mode power supply which has >3v ripple). With a significant amount of trouble shooting I think i2c is not the best method of comms in this situation.
As an alternative I think CAN bus would be a better alternative and also would provide other benefits such as CAN enabled ESCs which would reduce wiring complexity.
My question is following up with the previous mention of CAN bus integration from @Elliott, what would this sort of integration look like in Ardusub? Would connecting a USB to CAN transciever be one approach? In terms of code development could you give me a high level idea of how to approach it?
Thanks for you help
Cheers ,
Lewis
Any update on this? We want CAN support
