Hi
i would like to use an industrial grade Joystick to control my ROV, can anyone help me to do this?
You will need a USB interface to hook the joystick to. Like this one:(http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=180)
Then you can add the other switches, and push buttons to it. There are a few threads on this forum that will show you some examples of some of the fantastic surface controllers others have made to control BR2s.
Thanks k-deboer
I developed my own controller in order to get more flexibility.
I programmed it so it presses the shift button if you want to control more than 16 functions.
Actually, if you press the disarm button when the joystick is powered up, you will enter the config menu.
There you can:
- Put joystick in normal or shift mode
- Adjust the joystick deadband
- Adjust the coarse trim
- Adjust the LCD refresh rate
You can hard wire encoders for trim and gain.
Its got 26 buttons available for BR2 functions.
It allows 4 axis 0-3.3V (use a voltage divider if your joystick is 0-5v)
