I was making sure that our BlueROV2 was ready for deployment for a project we have coming up soon, and I was having trouble with updating the firmware via QGroundControl (I downloaded and installed the latest version of QGroundControl yesterday). It gave me a notification that the firmware for the BlueROV2 had to be updated, so I ended up having to reflash BlueOS onto the Raspberry Pi, and updating the firmware via the browser.
My issue now is that I’m missing functionality for the lights on the vehicle. When I try to enable the lights from within QGroundControl, it tells me that the firmware doesn’t support that. Furthermore, going to the Firmware tab in QGroundControl still doesn’t offer me anything except to flash the ChibiOS.
Lights will be critical for the project we have coming up, and I know that they work because the turned on while I was doing the firmware update via BlueOS. Has anyone seen this problem before or does anyone know how to solve it?
Thank you.
Hi @emahan716 -
Blue Robotics does not recommend the latest version of QGround Control. Please downgrade to version 4.2.8 for the most stable performance. Living with the nuisance notifications of a newer version being available is unfortunately unavoidable - unless you just switch to Cockpit!
Generally, if your lights aren’t working after a firmware update, loading the default parameters from the Vehicle Setup page in BlueOS can get things sorted out! Sharing a screenshot of your Vehicle Setup / PWM outputs configuration will illustrate how things are configured…
Hi Tony,
Thanks for your reply. I’ve installed the recommended version of QGround Control, and loaded the default parameters bie the Vehicle Setup page in BlueOS. I’ve uploaded a screenshot of the PWM outputs configurations as I’m still having trouble getting the lights to turn on.
I’m not as familiar with operating the vehicle via cockpit, but I wasn’t able to turn on the lights in either Cockpit or QGround Control.
Please let me know if there’s any other screen shot I can provide.
Thanks!
