hello to everyone, I’m new here in the community. A partner of mine gave me the BlueROV2 R3 version to fix it and keep it. He told me after an upgrade he did the camera stopped working and the official technician told us we have to update the Raspberry Pi and the Pixhawk with the newer version. I installed it, downloaded the latest versions of blueos and I’m setting on the ROV. But the camera issue it’s still here. I’ve camera is not dead, as I test it on my laptop. This is the image I take in Blueos platform.
Hi @ptiktapa -
Welcome to the forums!
You may need to replace that camera - it looks as if it may have been damaged? See Technical Bulletin 12.
Otherwise, make sure the green and white wires going to the camera are well twisted together!
Thanks for your reply! I already checked the bulletin and propably I’ll proceed to replace the camera, I just want to make sure that it’s a camera issue. I checked to the pipeline of manager and it normally recognizes the camera. The think that disturbes me is that the camera works on my laptop normally.
Hi @ptiktapa -
I’d suggest using a multimeter to measure the resistors and see if they are broken. If they are fine, then something else strange may be going on! The Raspberry Pi is very sensitive to impedance on the USB data lines, which is likely why it works on your computer but not when connected in the vehicle.
If you enable BlueOS’s pirate mode (face in the upper right), and then go to the terminal, type red-pill, and then type dmesg you’ll see a list of recent kernel messages. Share a screenshot of the output if you see evidence of your usb devices misbehaving!
Finally, it was a camera issue. I just changed the camera and everything worked perfectly. Thanks for helping me!
