Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe

Have you ever wondered what the bottom of Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe looks like? During a test dive last summer, we found out. In stark contrast to the landscape above, Emerald Bay is mostly flat, over 60m deep, silty, and full of arthropods.

Nice! Iā€™d love see video at some point if you have it.

We will be uploading this and some other footage to our YouTube channel in the coming days and will post the link. We have a lot of dives planned this summer, with a focus in interesting geologic or historic locations. It is a real treat to have an affordable ROV to dive what and when we want and without organizing an expedition. We are really glad Blue Robotics has opened the seafloor up to so many people.

As promised, the video from our dive last summer with a BlueROV2 Heavy. The vessel was drifting a bit duo to wind, otherwise we would have got closer to the island.
