We use the blheli_s firmware. It will arrive with firmware that you can use. We change the settings in the firmware to allow reverse rotation. You can do that with the blheli suite or blheli configurator software.

You have not selected the proper COM port. Select the COM port with your Arduino (it should be labelled as such in the drop down menu) and you should be able to communicate.
