Changing ESC parameters

Hi all

I have a situation where I am attempting to turn an M200 on and off by using a PWM input that has an input of 1300 to 1700 PWM. I want the M200 to run at max rpm so am I correct in thinking I can do that by using the BL Helisuite software to change the ESC firmware so that the parameters for PPM Min Throttle is 1300, PPM Max Throttle is 1700 and PPM Center Throttle is 1500?

Hi @johng -
Yes, what you describe should be possible. However, by reducing the PWM range, you’ll have less control resolution as you adjust the speed. It’s also worth noting that 1300 would be maximum throttle in one direction, and 1700 maximum throttle in the opposite direction…

Finally, brushless motors like the M200 aren’t well suited to low-speed, high torque operation, so if your application requires that you may want to increase torque / reduce speed with some sort of gearbox.

Thanks for that Tony. I am intending to run a small centrifugal pump I have designed with an 80 mm diameter impeller which roughly matches a T200 prop in size so I am hoping that a gear box isn’t necessary.
