Hi, just a quick question.
I’m wondering if it is possible to terminate a RJ45 plug to the tether inside the electronic enclousure and then plug that straight into a ethernet switch without the need for a the Fathom X interface board?
If that is the case, what is the maximum length of tether i can use then? Will 50 meters be ok?

Yes, that is technically possible, although likely to be less effective for communication.
I’m not sure, because our tether is not designed or tested as an ethernet cable, and we don’t have listed specs for using it as one. This thread is the most relevant discussion I could find, and it’s currently inconclusive on whether 50m is likely to work.
