BlueOS Certificate verify failed

I’m running into a problem where I can’t update my blueOS version or access the extensions page. I’ve verified that I do indeed have wifi and have internet access. I’m able to ping google.com and various other websites. However, when I look at the versions page it’s giving me this error:

Hi @nathan_1 -
Sometimes the global IP address you’re reaching the internet with may be blacklisted by github, or a firewall is otherwise preventing your access. Can you try connecting to a different source of internet, like a cell phone hotspot?

Hi Tony, I’ve tried it with a cell phone hotspot and it’s giving me the same error.

Just a follow up question, Tony. Would perhaps changing the global IP address help resolve this issue? Thanks for the help!

Hi @nathan_1
I’m not sure what “global” IP address you’re referring to. Generally, you can’t change the IP address your internet service provider has given you - you are using IP addresses within your own network, and as long as your WiFI router gave a valid IP via DHCP, things should be talking.
Can you turn on pirate mode, and take a screenshot that shows what github branch you’re trying to load?
If you navigate to the Extensions Manager, does the list of extensions appear?

I did a little bit more debugging on our end realized it was our firewall blocking. We had an ethernet switch that we plugged the pi into and didn’t realize that it was blocking the internet traffic. Got it to work now without the switch. Thanks for the help Tony!
