Hello,
I dislike the XT90-power and JST-balance combo for the 18Ah battery. I am thinking of replacing it with a single AS150U-F connector. Do you think it is a good idea?
Motivations are :
- less fragile wires when handling batteries.
- less errors, see example below
When plugging a 2nd 18Ah battery inside the blueboat, starting with JST-balance before XT90-power, we got a spark and also melting of the plus wire of the JST on one battery and melting of the minus wire of the JST on the other battery. This happened only once, I am not sure if this is due to :
- batteries not charged evenly (probably not by any significant amount)
- plugging the JST before the XT90 while the 1st battery is already plugged-in (both JST and XT90)
- A combination of 1 and 2
- Or simply not paying attention and facing JST-male and JST-female the wrong-way around with JST+ connected to JST- and vice-versa. We cannot remember if we were very careful or not on that day
Cheers
Eloi
