Any plans for a larger WetLink Cable Splice box?

I really like the concept of this box, because it allows for field repairs by crews without specialized training.

Does Blue have any plans to make a larger version?

The current box is a little small. After the penetrators are inserted, there is not much room left inside for cable splice hardware or service loops. A version about 12 cm long would be amazing.

Also, it would be nice if it was able to accept a 14 mm connector on one end. I drilled out the current version to 14 mm, but I’m not sure if the O-ring on the penetrator has got a good seal against the outside of the box now. If the flange around the hole was a little larger, it could be drilled out out accept a 14mm penetrator, which would be helpful.

This box with the penetrators is a fantastic solution for subsea splices though. Really good idea.

No expansion plans in that space that I’m aware of at the moment, but you’re welcome to submit a product request?

Have you also drilled out your penetrators so the cable jackets pass through them? The splicing job is likely easier if there are just wires coming in from each penetrator, with the jackets seated properly.
