Hey, I purchased a new AM32 based ESC and I am uploading the current firmware configuration of the ESC. But the thrusters are jittering at low PWM value. Can anyone suggest what changes I should make to the configuration of the ESC?
Hi @Haadi -
We’ve not tested that type of ESC, but you do have some parameters set wrong for the T200/M200 motor.
The KV value (rpm per volt) is too high - it should be ~470, but the 14 poles is correct.
You may find startup power needs to be set higher, as the controller may have settings that correspond to a propeller in air?
Finally, you can likely decrease the servo dead band to 10.
Can you suggest me a value for startup power too?
Additionally, I wanted to purchase BLHeli based ESC but I came to know that it has been shut down and I couldn’t flash new ESCs with the BLHeli software. I’ll do the necessary changes and will update you.
Hi @Haadi -
I’m not sure what the units are for startup power, but if watts, the 100 you have is likely ok?
Yeah @tony-white I increased the startup power to 120. Because at 100, the thruster was jittering or stuttering, now it’s not. But now, I am still not getting the same thrust at a particular PWM that I get when I use a BLHeli32 ESC. Could you suggest a reason as to why?
The reason why is clear - there is a difference in the ESC firmware, both structurally and in terms of settings! What this difference is I don’t have any information on - apologies! Continuing to increase start-up power, or determining the settings on your BLHeli32 ESC is likely your best path forward.
