Can the Bluerov2 be modified for eight thrusters so it can control pitch if it was using manipulators?
I know Ardusub can handle it, but I’m not sure if the Bluerov2 frame allows for it. Or is that what the extra thruster mounting holes on the frame are for? But that would mean the thrusters would have to be mounted on the outside of the frame. Is that what those extra holes were intended for?
Yes, we’ve haven’t tested it much, but there are existing mounting holes in the BlueROV2 frame for this configuration. The thrusters will have to be mounted on the outside of the frame. It’s already supported in ArduSub as well.
We’re planning to do more work on this in the future but you’re welcome to get a head start! Should be fairly straightforward to set up. You’ll have to figure out where to install ESCs and such.
