4K camera installation- fit issue electronics watertight enclosure

Hey Blue Robotics team,

Hoping you might be able to help me with this issue. I am installing the new 4K cam into our bluerov2s, but am having an issue with the fit of the electronics watertight enclosure. I have switched to the shorter 25 mm standoffs, and followed the installation instructions. I am thinking that our front and rear flange may be a few mm too short?

For context: We have several bluerov2s in our lab, purchased in 2018 (r1). The only original parts that remain in these in the battery and electronics enclosures, as well as the o-ring flange/ end caps and vent plugs. Basically all electronic components and external hardware has been upgrade to the new components. Do the recent flanges have different measurements to the originals?

Thanks for your help!

PS. There is still one ROV r1 in our lab that has not been upgraded yet. New parts that I have and will be installing are; 6.5LC wetlink penetrators to replace the epoxy penetrators, new power cable set, power sense modules, 5V6A power supply, T200 thrusters, navigator upgrade kit, new low light usb camera and mount/ tilt, bar30 sensor, several BESC30-R3s, new ping sonar and a JST GH to DF13 Adapter.

Are there any other components that we might need when fully upgrading/ repairing our original r1 bluerov2? I would also like to switch all our ROVs battery (3") and electronics ( 4") enclosures to the locking version. If you could confirm the parts I might need for this, it would be a big help!

Thanks

Kristen

Hi @Kristen_M -
If you’re using the 4K Cam with a non-locking enclosure, the dimensions are indeed significantly different… besides upgrading your flanges and tubes to be the locking variety, you could also machine the flanges to have a slightly wider internal diameter, so the correct standoffs with your tray all fit!
We’re updating the 4k Camera guide to better inform users on compatibility.
