As discussed in this thread, that should be fine! I’d limit the amount of reverse thrust, as the two mounting points at the back of the thruster for the nose cone aren’t intended for use in this way, but limiting the “pull-out” force should be enough!
Depending on your application, you may want to remove the nozzle and use a larger propeller, to more efficiently move your vehicle thru the water. The T500 is intended for high thrust, low speed, but after converting it you can go higher speed / lower thrust!
