@ Rusty - Using your ESC, will pulsing the T100 at 2000 or 1000 from a dead stop, in the water, damage the ESC or motor (as opposed to ramping up/down from 1500)?. I remember from my RC electric flight days that a “soft start” was programmed into the ESC to prevent overtorque damage, if you slammed the stick forward from a dead stop.
The ESCs have a bit of soft start programmed in but not much. I think ramping would be preferable but we’ve never had any issues going straight to full throttle. It will definitely give your ROV a big jolt.
I can’t speak to how this effect longevity of the thruster yet but that’s on our list of things to test.
