Greeting all. I like to use a surface power supply to the ROV as I will spend long duration under the water and do not expect the batteries to hold out for such a long time. I assume my post isn’t a new question, but I really like to know if it possible. I will be entering an environment where it would be difficult to fly back out if the battery is out of juice.
Thus, is there a cable that can support a surface power supply of 230vac and twisted pair of cores to support the data , Ethernet connections?
Why not use an ethernet over Powergrit module. But be carefull with the 230vac and Water. Only up to 48VDC is used for tools near/in water normaly.
Hi @richardo,
We have a topside power system available for the BlueROV2. This will allow you to dive your BlueROV2 indefinitely.

thank you for the update. the topside unit is the unit in the suitcase? however I will need a stepdown unit on the vehicle won’t I? Thus what umbilical should I use?
yes I been running a system before that runs of 48vdc. Any suggestions on the POE that is available in the market? 24vdc is good for now. i assume its going to be 230vac down with the ethernet working along the two cores as well, then at the vehicle end it will be connected to a 230vac / 24vdc power supply?
Hi @richardo,
The system includes everything necessary, please read the product description in the link I posted, that will answer all your questions.
